From creating your own comics to meeting real life farmers to drawing your own make believe characters, children (and some adults) across Donegal have been having a great time this week during Wainfest 2016.

“We are delighted with the interest in our events and workshops this week and we would like to thank all the parents, children and the schools who have taken time out of their busy schedules to come along and take part in our many activities” says Sinead McLaughlin for Donegal County Council’s Library Service.

“We wanted to inform, nurture and inspire our children during this year’s Wainfest and I think we have achieved this.  Children have been able to involve themselves in the creative process while learning how interesting the past can be as well as learning about the many different aspects of the world around us.”

Wainfest continues until this Saturday when cinemas all over the county will have special screenings of “The BFG”, the phizz-whizzing new film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic book and families are urged to check out their local cinema to avail of the special deals on offer.
